The Pig House
Sometimes a home can't be listed. Not because of the condition — but because of the situation. The sellers on Bucknall Rd had a unique living arrangement that made a traditional open-market sale impossible. They needed a buyer who would simply close, no questions, no showings, no inspections with strangers walking through. That's exactly what they got.

The Situation: A Home That Simply Couldn't Be Listed
The sellers on Bucknall Rd had a companion animal — a pig — living in the home with them. They were ready to relocate, but had one non-negotiable: the move had to be smooth and stress-free for their animal. That meant no open houses, no strangers cycling through during showings, no drawn-out listing process with inspectors and appraisers and buyers' agents coming and going. A traditional sale was simply off the table. They needed a single buyer they could trust to show up, close, and let them move on their terms. We were that buyer.
About This Project
The house on Bucknall Rd sits in a well-located part of San Jose with strong buyer demand. The floorplan had some functional issues — the kitchen placement didn't work well with the living space, and the primary bathroom was undersized for what the neighborhood commands — but these were fixable problems. Once we closed and the sellers were on their way, we got to work on a targeted renovation designed to unlock the property's full potential.
This one wasn't a gut job. It was a smart reconfiguration: move the kitchen, relocate the HVAC to claim space for the primary bath, and refresh every surface with new tile, fixtures, and paint. The result is a home that functions the way buyers expect in this price range.

Scope of Work
The renovation focused on reconfiguring the layout to improve functionality, then refreshing everything else top to bottom:
- Kitchen relocated — full kitchen moved to a new position to improve the flow between the kitchen and living areas, all-new cabinetry, countertops, backsplash, appliances, and fixtures in the reconfigured layout
- HVAC relocated — HVAC system moved to free up square footage in the primary bathroom, significantly expanding the space
- New HVAC system — full HVAC replacement throughout
- Primary bathroom expanded and remodeled — all-new tile, vanity, fixtures, and finishes in the enlarged primary bath
- Bathroom 2 updated — all-new tile and fixtures throughout
- Full interior paint — fresh, neutral palette throughout all rooms
- Extensive landscaping — full front and backyard landscaping including new grass, new fencing, and new driveway pavers
- New garage door — full garage door replacement improving curb appeal and function
- New fixtures throughout — all lighting, hardware, and fixtures replaced

We Buy Homes in Any Situation
This project is one of our favorites to talk about — not because of the renovation, but because of what it represents. There is no situation too unusual, too complicated, or too sensitive for us to work with. We have bought homes with active code violations, homes in the middle of probate, homes with difficult tenants, homes with deferred maintenance in every system, and yes — homes with livestock.
The sellers on Bucknall Rd didn't need a lender who would require an appraisal. They didn't need an inspector poking through their home. They didn't need an agent putting the property on Zillow. They needed one buyer with cash, a fair offer, and the ability to close on their schedule. The moment we agreed on a number, they had certainty — and that certainty let them plan their move without stress.
That's the promise we make to every seller we work with: we show up, we close, and we make the process as easy as possible on your end. Whatever the situation is.
